Loop-free long notes
All long notes here are genuine long recordings, avoiding the looping common in sample libraries. All long notes have legato options too. The result: Maximum realism.
Divisi for all sections
Benjamin Wallfisch Strings offers tutti and divisi sections, as well as a choice of upbow and downbow strokes, for all long notes and legatos. For example, the 14 first violins form the tutti, and you get two groups of 7 violins as divisi sections. Each section was independently recorded in situ, ensuring a consistent and entirely natural sound—no recordings were re-used here. This means you can create interlocking melodies and variations that sit perfectly in the sound stage, and perform like a live orchestra.
Upbow and downbow strokes
When writing for real strings, it’s common to specify the bowing direction—this can have a notable effect on the sound. Sample libraries rarely offer this level of control, but Benjamin Wallfisch Strings is an exception. Here you get a choice of upbow or downbow for all long notes from all sections. This means total control and maximum realism. Or simply an additional option for fine-tuning and balancing your sound.
Divisi update September 2024
We improved Benjamin Wallfisch Strings even further with an additional divisi update in September 2024, adding short articulations and ornaments to all divisi sections. This means that all the sections, tutti and divisi, have the same articulations and feature set, for total consistency across the patches. The update is free for all owners of Benjamin Wallfisch Strings.
Advanced dynamic expression
Five dynamic levels for all core articulations gives you a new level of expression. Vibrato increases automatically at higher dynamics to underline high points in your compositions. This makes for immediate playability and superlative dynamic control.

Perfectly integrated Teldex sound
Benjamin Wallfisch Strings is also available as a bundle with its sister collection, Stringscapes by Benjamin Wallfisch.
What’s more, both collections were recorded at the Teldex Scoring Stage in Berlin—the same place we recorded the Berlin Series, the Metropolis Ark Series, Miroire, and many other collections. We used the same basic mic setup every time, so you know that all these collections work perfectly together in the same sonic space.
